Leadership Team
Lead Pastor
Pastor Jonathan Poindexter will begin serving as Lead Pastor at NorthLight Community Church on February 1, 2026.
Jonathan was raised in a Christian home in central South Dakota and committed his life to Christ at an early age. He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Biblical Studies with a minor in Christian Ministry from Trinity International University, and a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. He is ordained through the Evangelical Free Church of America (EFCA).
Since 2014, Jonathan has served at Faith Evangelical Free Church in Austin, MN as Pastor of Worship & Groups. In this role, he led worship services, trained and supervised ministry leaders, organized major church events, and developed and taught small group leaders. He has also regularly preached biblical sermons and supported district-level ministry through licensing interviews.
Jonathan brings a strong desire to shepherd the church through biblical teaching, authentic worship, and relational leadership. He values team-based ministry, equipping others, and helping people experience Christ in every season of life.
He and his wife, Tricia, were married in 2016 and are proud parents to two children. In his free time, Jonathan enjoys spending time with his family, being outdoors, grilling, engaging in meaningful conversations, and making music.

Interim Pastor
Pastor Pat Wester has been serving as NorthLight Community Church’s Interim Pastor since June 15, 2025.
Pat committed his life to serving Christ when he was 12 at Bible Camp. Pat received his BS in Law Enforcement from MSU in Mankato and an MDiv from Bethel Seminary. He is also a certified coach and ordained with the EFCA.
After 8 years of serving in law enforcement, he went on to be a youth pastor, pastor of children and adult discipleship, executive pastor and an interim lead pastor over his 30 plus years in ministry. He currently serves as Director of Church Revitalization for EFCA's North Central District.
He has been married to his wife, Dawn since 1982 and together they have 3 adult children and 6 grandchildren. Pat enjoys the outdoors in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area, working in his yard and garden as well as the occasional golf game.
He is grateful to be able to serve NorthLight as Interim Pastor.

Worship Leader
Noah Broring joined NorthLight Community Church as Worship Leader in May 2025. With extensive experience in worship ministry, Noah brings a heart for authentic worship and a deep passion for helping others connect with God through music.
A skilled musician, Noah leads from both piano and drums and is passionate about blending contemporary worship with timeless favorites. He has led worship in a variety of settings and has experience coordinating worship teams, mentoring musicians, and organizing musical events.
Noah holds degrees in Music and Biblical Studies and has been active in teaching music privately for several years. His approach to worship leadership is both thoughtful and Spirit-led, seeking to create space for the church to grow in faith and praise.
He and his wife live in the Kasson area with their children. As a family, they are deeply rooted in their faith and community, and they enjoy sharing their love of music and ministry with others.
